Family and death of Jackie:

 

     Robinson and his wife had three children, Jackie Robinson Jr.

born November 18th, 1946, died 1971, a year before Jackie died, 

Sharon Robinson born January 13th, 1950 and David Robinson born

May 14th, 1952. Complications Jackie's heart disease and diabetes

weakened Robinson and made him almost blind by middle age. On

October 24th, 1972, he died of a heart attack in his home at aged 53.

 Robinson's funeral was on October 27th, 1972.

Many of his former teammates and other famous baseball players 

come to the funeral.

           Robinson's daughter, Sharon, became a midwife, educator, director of educational programming for MLB, and the author of two books about her father, Jackie, and  His youngest son, David, who has six children, is a coffee grower and social activist in Tanzania.
